APB speaker Dr. Alfredo Quiñones-Hinojosa, also known as “Dr. Q,” was an impoverished teenager living in a rural Mexican village before he found his way into California and—with hope, hard work and persistence—into the loftiest heights of the American Dream. Now a renowned neurosurgeon and neuroscientist who leads cutting edge research to cure brain cancer, Dr. Q is featured in new Netflix series The Surgeon’s Cut.  The series will highlight the work of four pioneering surgeons from around the world. “Through the individual stories of these experts — who specialize in fetal medicine, neurosurgery, transplants and cardiology — the series explores how our understanding of the human body is constantly being reinvented.” 

The first woman to achieve the rank of four-star admiral and the first woman to be appointed to the position of Vice Chief of Naval Operations, APB speaker Michelle Howard was recently appointed to Joe Biden’s transition team to the Department of Defense.  The retired Admiral joins more than 20 others making up the “Agency Review Team” for the Pentagon. This team will be responsible for reviewing current operations in the Department of Defense in order to ensure a smooth transfer of power.

We are less than a week away from the 2020 election and APB speaker and political scientist Mark Blyth says the election is going to be closer than the polls indicate. “Trump has got a lot more left than people give him credit for,” said Blyth, who is the co-author of the book Angrynomics. Blyth told listeners on “The Takeout” podcast that Trump has appeal to the white working class, a demographic which has turned out to vote in increasing numbers since 2012.
