Betty Nguyen is an award-winning journalist and humanitarian whose work has taken her across the globe. Nguyen has spent her entire career covering some of the most important issues of our time. As an anchor for NBC News and MSNBC, Nguyen covered the 2016 Presidential election, the Boston Marathon bombings, the election of Pope Francis, the birth of Prince George and the death of Nelson Mandela. Before her move to NBC, she anchored The CBS Morning News and reported for CBS This Morning, where she covered the 2012 Presidential election, the death of Osama Bin Laden, the Royal wedding and the Gulf oil spill. Prior to that, Nguyen anchored the weekend edition of CNN Newsroom where she contributed to CNN's coverage of Hurricane Katrina that earned a George Foster Peabody Award and coverage of the 2006 tsunami in South Asia that won an Alfred I. duPont award. Her reports from around the world and interviews with newsmakers and global leaders have made her a well-respected speaker on the issues of diversity, media and humanitarian aid.
