Each year, on April 22, more than 1 billion people from around the world celebrate Earth Day. At APB, we love to honor this special day, as well as our speakers below, who are working so hard to save our planet. They include:
Mary Robinson
Former President of Ireland, Chair of The Elders and Former UN Special Envoy on Climate Change
One of the world's most respected advocates for climate justice and Ireland's first woman President, Robinson is a sought-after speaker who has moved audiences around the world with her passionate and hopeful call for all nations to work together to fight for a sustainable future. Wanjiku "Wawa" Gatheru
Environmental Justice Warrior, Rhodes Scholar and Founder of Black Girl Environmentalist
Gatheru is a climate justice storyteller motivated to uplift the voices of those most adversely impacted by the climate crisis. She has become a prominent voice of her generation, using the power of social media to share how communities of color and women have been adversely affected by climate change and the racist roots of the environmental movement.
Gina McCarthy
First-ever White House Climate Advisor, Former EPA Administrator, Professor and Environmental and Public Health Thought Leader
McCarthy is one of the nation's most respected voices on climate change, the environment and public health. As head of the Climate Policy Office under President Biden, McCarthy's leadership led to the most aggressive action on climate in U.S. history, creating new jobs and unprecedented clean energy innovation and investments across the country.
Sophia Kianni
Founder of Climate Cardinals and Youngest Appointed United Nations Advisor
Kianni is an Iranian-American activist studying science, technology and society at Stanford University. She is the founder and executive director of Climate Cardinals, an international nonprofit with 9,000 volunteers in 40-plus countries working to translate climate information into over 100 languages. She represents the U.S. as the youngest member of the inaugural United Nations Youth Advisory Group on Climate Change.
Susan Crawford
Expert In Climate Adaptation and Public Policy, Harvard Law Professor and Author

Laboucan-Massimo has worked on climate justice, Indigenous sovereignty and women's rights for more than 15 years. She is the founder of Sacred Earth Solar and co-founder and senior director at Indigenous Climate Action. Laboucan-Massimo is the inaugural Fellow at the David Suzuki Foundation where her research focused on Climate Change, Indigenous Knowledge and Renewable Energy. She also hosts a TV docu-series called Power to the People, which profiles renewable energy in Indigenous communities.
