Justin ‘Mr. Fascinate’ Shaifer & Bill Nye Co-host World Largest Science Competition Awards

APB Exclusive Speaker and STEM Advocate Justin “Mr. Fascinate” Shaifer was recently at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. to co-host the 31st Annual Toshiba/NSTA ExploraVision Science Competition Awards. He introduced the winners of the world’s largest k-12 science competition with co-host Bill Nye the Science Guy.
This competition is designed to help students develop skills emphasized in the Next Generation Science Standards, including problem-solving, critical thinking and collaboration. To participate, students were challenged to imagine and come up with an idea for a tool or technology of the future with the potential to solve the world’s critical problems. For 31 consecutive years, ExploraVision has helped children to expand their imaginations and have fun while developing an interest in STEM education at an early age.
Shaifer said it was an honor to co-host and promote the student winners. He said there were amazing projects that blew his mind at the event.
