Out Today, "Fearlessly Different" a Memoir by Autistic Actor Mickey Rowe - Take a Sneak Peek Inside!
14 Mar 2022
We are excited to share with you the release of Mickey Rowe's distinct and important new memoir, Fearlessly Different: An Autistic Actor’s Journey to Broadway's Biggest Stage. Rowe, founder and artistic director of the National Disability Theatre, was the epicenter of significant publicity when he became the first autistic actor to play Christopher Boone, the lead role in the Tony Award-winning play “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.”
In his new book, he recasts the definition of abled body and mind as he takes readers on a narrative journey that begins with his struggles as a legally blind, autistic child. Even as he was shunned by his mother, bullied by his brothers, and relegated backstage by teachers and classmates, Rowe learned to embrace his differences when others recoiled from them. Now hailed as a trailblazer and inspiration, he remains committed to activism and driven by the mantra, "Our differences are our strengths."
