20th Surgeon General of the United States and sought-after APB speaker Dr. Jerome Adams is inspiring more Black boys to become doctors. He is featured in the new documentary called Black Men In White Coats, which tackles the issues around why black men aren’t becoming medical doctors and what that means for society.
Dr. Adams’ experience with healthcare began when he met a Black physician as a student. This encounter inspired him to pursue a career in medicine. As Black Men In White Coats highlights, representation is needed in every field, but especially healthcare. Adams discusses this issue of diversity, as well as solutions for bringing more people of color into the world of healthcare.
