APB's Tracy Martin & Sybrina Fulton Recognized at VH1 "Trailblazer Honors"

APB speakers Tracy Martin and Sybrina Fulton, parents of the late Trayvon Martin, were recognized at the VH1 Trailblazer Honors. Since their son’s death, both parents have been dedicated to to transforming tragedy into social change. They work to make a difference through the #BlackLivesMatter movement and the Trayvon Martin Foundation.
Sharing a message of hope and change, Tracy Martin and Sybrina Fulton discussed perseverance and the ways in which they continue to get through the immense heartache of the loss of their beloved son. “But I decided I could not let my son’s death be in vain, and although I still hurt six years later, I am able to stand here before you in my right mind because I put my trust in God,” said Sybrina Fulton.
The #BlackLivesMatter movement has drawn attention to social injustice and has awakened the nation’s conscience. Honest and relatable speakers, Martin and Fulton share their powerful message with everyone from colleges and legal professionals to community and family organizations.
