PCMA Main Stage: Two of our Most Inspirational Speakers
11 Dec 2018
We’re honored that two of our most inspiring APB exclusive speakers have been invited to appear on the Main Stage at PCMA Convening Leaders. Steve Pemberton and Nadya Okamoto share their inspiring stories of grit and resilience, proving that life experiences can uniquely position all of us to change the world for the better. The pair will be interviewed by Main Stage facilitator Holly Ransom.
- Steve Pemberton’s journey has taken him from being an orphan in foster care to a trailblazing corporate executive, author and philanthropist. At Monster, Walgreens and in his current role as Globoforce Chief Human Resources Officer, he has changed the diversity conversation from classifying people by visible characteristics to focusing on who they are and the life experiences they bring. Steve will share how any organization can shift their paradigm by getting the most out of their teams to increase customer engagement, company morale, and revenue.
- Nadya Okamoto personifies the idea of “being the change.” At 16 she founded PERIOD, a nonprofit that provides menstrual hygiene products to the homeless. PERIOD now has more than 150 chapters across the U.S. Honored for her innovative philanthropy, Okamoto will explain how she overcame adversity and homelessness to attend Harvard and turn her experiences into a platform for advocacy and women’s empowerment.
