30 Nov 2015
There are many change agents in this world, but only a select few have the honor of being considered visionaries on Salt magazine’s list. The magazine selected 100 of the greatest women who are changing lives and having a positive influence around the world, including APB speakers Tawakkol Karman, Mary Robinson, Amal Clooney, and several other inspiring leaders.
Karman is a Nobel Prize-winning human rights activist who was the international face of the Yemeni uprising of 2011, helping shape and give voice to the Arab Spring rebellions. Robinson, the first female president of Ireland, has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the global community and remains one of today’s most dynamic and influential social changemakers. Attorney and activist Clooney has a distinguished career focused on international law and human rights issues, and has represented several high-profile cases such as the defense of former Ukranian prime minster Yulia Tymoshenko; Muammar al-Qaddafi’s intelligence chief Abdullah al-Senussi; and WikiLeaks editor-in-chief Julian Assange.
From powerful opponents of political oppression to philanthropists and iconic feminists, other notable speakers on Salt’s list include Vandana Shiva, Leyman Gbowee, Shirin Ebadi and Rigoberta Menchu-Tum.
Featuring today's top influencers, risk takers, and pioneers fighting for positive change, APB's prominent women speakers are sought after for their ability to rally audiences around a cause or discussion.
