APB Speaker Samantha Harris Shares Her Breast Cancer Survival Story with Huffington Post

“Know your body, protect your health” are words that APB speaker Samantha Harris lives by. In a Huffington Post interview, the former Dancing with the Stars host and TV personality shared how paying attention to her body and trusting her instincts allowed her to not only have a positive attitude, but survive her battle with breast cancer.
Harris, who was recently honored at the Get in Touch Foundation's event in LA, decided to get her first mammogram when she turned 40. Her results were clear and she continued her active lifestyle. However, 11 days later, she noticed a lump in her breast. After pursuing additional tests, she was eventually diagnosed with breast cancer and bravely opted for a double mastectomy with reconstruction. One year later, she was cancer free. Crediting much of her strength to the network of survivors she met, Harris remarked: "It was a newfound level of support when I started to speak with other survivors...
