Boston Marathon Survivor Jeff Bauman's Incredible Story to Hit the Big Screen
30 Jul 2015
The Boston Herald recently announced critically-acclaimed director David Gordon Green agreed to head Lionsgate’s Stronger, the story of Boston Marathon bombing survivor and APB speaker Jeff Bauman.
The film is based on Bauman's book of the same name, Stronger, which details the aftermath of the 2013 attack at the Boston Marathon finish line, where Bauman was cheering for his girlfriend. A photo of Bauman moments after the blast remains one of the best-known images from the tragedy that killed three and injured more than 260. The book describes Bauman’s attempts to walk again and face his new circumstances with grace, transforming from “an aimless deli counter worker” to “a man driven with ambition.”
Director David Gordon Green’s film credits include Pineapple Express, Your Highness, Manglehorn, and the upcoming dramedy Our Brand Is Crisis.
