Kelly Corrigan’s TED Talk ‘To Love Is to Be Brave’ Now Streaming on Ted.com

Kelly Corrigan’s latest TED talk, "To Love Is to Be Brave," is now available to view on ted.com. Corrigan, a bestselling author, cancer survivor, host of the PBS Series Tell Me More With Kelly Corrigan and host of the Podcast and NPR show Kelly Corrigan Wonders, introduced the talk at the TED2024 conference in Vancouver, BC, Canada, in April.

The theme of the conference was The Brave and The Brilliant. It was the 40th anniversary of TED’s founding and was a celebration of a future worth having and those leading the way with creativity, ingenuity, courage, wisdom and generosity.

Corrigan’s addition to the week was to offer 12 minutes on the extraordinary bravery that is sometimes required in family life. She offered profound wisdom (and seven keywords) to help you focus on what matters most. It’s something she feels even more strongly today since the recent death of her mother. Since its debut this month, the video has received nearly 300,000 views.

Tell Me More with Kelly Corrigan is now in its seventh season. On the show, Corrigan sits down for deep dive, one-on-one conversations with the nation's most esteemed changemakers. These insightful conversations educate and entertain as guests reflect on their lives and the impact they have on their worlds. Interviewees include artists like Judd Apatow, Jennifer Garner, David Byrne and Jewel; activists like Bryan Stevenson, Samantha Power, Dolores Huerta and Cecile Richards; writers like Dave Eggers, Nick Hornby and Michael Lewis and even the coach of her favorite NBA team (Steve Kerr of the Golden State Warriors).

Kelly Corrigan Wonders is one of the top podcasts and NPR Shows in the country, with 16 million downloads. Corrigan describes it as a “place for people who like to laugh while they think.”

Her most recent series—Kelly Corrigan Wonders: About Your Mother—is cohosted with Christy Turlington Burns. Guests include Jennifer Garner, Cindy Crawford, Amy Schumer, Spike Lee and Bono. The pair hope to raise awareness and contributions for Every Mother Counts through the series.

In addition to her TV series and podcast, Corrigan is the author of four New York Times bestselling memoirs, including Tell Me More, Glitter and Glue, The Middle Place and Lift. Her writings earned her the title of "The Poet Laureate of the Ordinary" from Huffington Post and the "Voice of a Generation" from O Magazine. She has been a guest on The Today Show seven times.

In the spring of 2021, she published her first children’s book, Hello World. Corrigan’s second children’s book, Marianne The Maker, will be published in June 2025. She is also an accomplished essayist, appearing in The New York Times, O Magazine, Glamour and Good Housekeeping, and a dedicated volunteer and activist for excellence in mother and child healthcare.
